Dr. Kenneth White
Transportation Commission District One

Kenneth White (District 1) of Las Cruces is the Regents Professor and Department Head Emeritus of the Civil Engineering Department at New Mexico State University, where he served in numerous teaching and administrative roles since 1970. He is a nationally recognized expert in bridge safety and evaluation.

Robert Wallach
Transportation Commission District Two

Robert Wallach (District 2) is the owner of Wallach Concrete Inc. in Hobbs as well as Wallach Ranch, LLC.  He was appointed as District 2 commissioner in October 2012.

Pete K. Rahn
Transportation Commission District Three

Pete Rahn (District 3) of Placitas is the National Transportation Practice Leader for HNTB Corporation. From 2004 to 2010 he was the Director of the Missouri Department of Transportation and prior to that served as Secretary of the New Mexico Highway and Transportation Department. He has also served as San Juan County Treasurer.

Ronald Schmeits
Transportation Commission District Four

Ronald Schmeits (District 4) is the President, CEO, and Director of International Bank in Raton as well as the Vice President of the Raton Capital Corporation. Schmeits has an extensive background in banking and finance, with a long record of leadership at community banks. In 2009 he was elected President of the National Rifle Association.

Butch Mathews
Transportation Commission District Five

Butch Mathews (District 5) is the President and CEO of M&R Trucking Company in Farmington. He is also a board member of the New Mexico Carrier’s Association.

Jackson Gibson
Transportation Commission District Six

Jackson Gibson (District 6) is the president of J.G. & Associates in Thoreau. He was first appointed to the Transportation Commission in 2008.
